Summary
The Property Strategy and Pricing team is seeking candidates for a Consultant role focused on trend and industry analysis. As a member of the Property Pricing and Strategy research team, this individual will provide advanced technical and analytical support to the monitoring of industry trends and the development of new, non-traditional insurance products. He/she will develop internal and external market research, as well as competitive intelligence, to help inform strategic decisions supporting near and long term profitable growth for the property line of business. He/she is expected to lead all aspects of his/her projects and will be given the opportunity to regularly present work to Research managers, National Product Managers, and occasionally Product SVP's. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of developing creative solutions to complex problems, be comfortable with data handling and have an appreciation of what makes sense from a business standpoint. Solid communication and collaboration skills are critical to the role.
Responsibilities
* Works with a high degree of autonomy on the analysis of macroeconomic and industry trends * Provides recommendations on key strategic questions for the product line, based on in-depth analyses * Creates executive level presentations on near and long term market strategy * Queries data to conduct complex ad hoc analysis of metrics * Builds monitoring reports for stakeholders * Leads own work streams on medium to long-term or moderate to high complexity projects * Manages cross-functional aspects of moderate complexity projects, working with members in and outside the Strategy and Pricing team * Regularly conducts competitive intelligence and pushes forward the development of new product features * Monitors and interprets strategic industry developments * Provides mentorship to less experienced analysts
Ideal Candidate
* Master's Degree or equivalent in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field desired * Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in data, predictive modeling, quantitative analysis, product strategy, and product development * Demonstrated proficiency in using statistical and analytic software tools such as SAS, VBA, R, Emblem, etc. * Advanced analytical/problem solving and research skills and experience with very large analysis datasets * Effective communication skills for writing reports/proposals and making presentations, in particular the ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical results to a non-technical business audience * Ability to perform high-level work both independently and collaboratively as a project team member or leader * Property & Casualty Insurance experience preferred
