Tax Analyst

Libbey, Inc is the leading producer of glass tableware products in the Western Hemisphere and one of the largest glass tableware manufacturers in the world. It designs and markets an extensive line of high-quality glass tableware, ceramic dinnerware, metal flatware, hollowware and serveware items to a broad group of customers in the foodservice, retail, and business-to-business markets in over 100 countries.

The Tax Analyst’s initial assignment will be in Libbey’s Corporate Tax department and is expected to last 18-24 months. And develop a strong understanding of Libbey’s current business model and accounting systems through exposure to the global business and the company’s tax function. Over time, the Tax Analyst will be expected to rotate through other Finance functions to develop a well-rounded financial perspective. Examples of possible future opportunities include corporate Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, and/or Treasury.

* Preparation of income and other tax filings * Assistance with SOX compliance * Assistance with quarterly and annual tax provisions * Maintenance of tax fixed asset records * Maintenance of tax calendar * Tax research and other special projects

* Bachelor’s Degree, with a major in Tax, Accounting or Finance * Ability to build effective relationships across business functions * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels management * Proficient with Microsoft Office products (including advanced knowledge of Excel), and the aptitude to learn new systems * Perform well under pressure, manage multiple assignments and able to prioritize tasks * Self-motivated; follow-up on and take ownership of all outstanding issues * Commitment to strict deadlines
