Summary
Libbey, Inc. is currently seeking an intellectually driven, organized, and detail orientated individual for a full-time, Professional Accountant role within its US & Canada Region Accounting department. Libbey's Professional Accountant with be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording of transactions, account analysis and reconciliations within GAAP guidelines. Participates in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and SEC filings.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly account analysis and reconciliation - Preparation and distribution of daily, monthly and/or quarterly reports - Preparation of journal entries in support of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings - Perform monthly tie out of JDE reports to Controller for various business units - Preparation of various schedules for external auditors on a quarterly and annual basis - Perform forecast, budget & prior year variance analyses on monthly balance sheets, income statements, and changes in financial position - Perform testing as part of the Company's SOX compliance - Manage US fixed assets including reconciliations, depreciation calculation, management of the internal project system, capital expenditure forecast, etc - Ad hoc analysis and special projects
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting and one to three years of experience in Accounting - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to learn/manipulate systems quickly - Strong foundation with Microsoft Office products (primarily Excel), and the use of information systems - Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, someone who performs well under pressure - Manage multiple assignments and ability to prioritize with a commitment to strict deadlines
