The Forming Specialist provides leadership and direction that improves safety, quality and efficiencies to all machines and processes within the forming department.
Responsibilities
* Understand glass forming processes and use this knowledge to safely and efficiently check-out, start-up and change over all forming machine types * Lead continuous improvement efforts across all production machines * Responsible for all online and offline quality * Coordinate and execute production trials or machine samplings * Maintain Control Plans throughout production runs * Lead process improvement teams * Build and update communication plans which facilitate and drive organizational change and development, along with project status updates and milestone reviews * Collaborate with, lead, support, coach production and support department team members throughout all levels of the organization * Assist with the development and operational training initiatives for operators, team leaders and apprentices
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications:** * Strong understanding and passion for safe, clean and organized work environments * Applied knowledge of effective trouble shooting and root cause analysis * Applied knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement concepts such as tools commonly used to eliminate waste, including kaizen, 5S, error proofing, and development and training of standard work, etc * Effective project management skills * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint * Strong interpersonal skills: communication, facilitation, coaching, consulting, influencing change **Physical Demands and Work Environment** * Must be willing to work swing shift * Subject to hot, cold, dusty environments * Safety glasses and hearing protection required * Manufacturing environment with high noise level
