DevOps - Manager

Lead, collaborate, build. You'll combine your hands-on technical skills in systems administration, database administration, coding and automation with your people management skills to grow and shape our team of systems engineers. You'll set the Operations direction for the team and lead our efforts in capacity planning and scaling our infrastructure to our next level of growth. You'll guide the deployment and operation of Lever’s product systems and services into its next stage of growth. You’ll bring your expertise to improve the design and development of tooling, automation, and dev processes. You'll also address the unique operational challenges of a real-time web application. Your goal: Help us mitigate risk while increasing reliability. We’ll trust you to work with our dev team to write code and architect systems that make our entire codebase more testable, scalable, and dependable. We'll trust you to assess and tweak our current set of Ops tools and also evolve our on-call set-up as our customer base continues to grow and our service needs change.

**Within 3 months, you’ll** * Assess hiring plan for the year * Familiarize yourself with the DevOps and Eng orgs * Own on-call schedules, alerting, monitoring and build / deploy system used by the entire team * Own the uptime and reliability and availability of our system **Within 6 months, you’ll** * Drive our roadmap for deployment and operations improvements * Collaborate with product and infrastructure engineers to Increase feature release speed and lower bug rates * Maintain risk assessments and disaster response scenarios * Manage relationships with vendors, hosting providers, CDN’s and any other 3rd party services we use to build our infrastructure * Educate the Engineering team on what a great DevOps culture looks like **Within 12 months, you’ll** * Train additional devops engineers * Manage and grow a team of DevOps engineers * Maintain knowledge of best practices and teach them to rest of team * Ensure that service reliability and performance is scaling with our growing customer base. * Established a great DevOps culture in the Engineering team as a whole
