Summary
The Team Member III Operator is responsible for the safe operation of equipment in the department, CIP systems, lab equipment and various control instruments.
Responsibilities
* The position reports to the Production Supervisor. No employees report to the position. * The Team Member III Operator is responsible for the safe operation of its associated equipment and/or processes, the quality of incoming raw materials, the quality of the outgoing products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe work practices. This position is also responsible for maintaining 5S standards, and participating in and implementing continuous improvement. * The Team Member III Operator must be able to communicate effectively in relaying information to team members, team leads, supervisors, and managers as applicable. The person must have strong time management and organizational skills. In addition, the person must be mechanically inclined. The job requires the safe handling of hazardous chemicals in a hot/humid/noisy work environment. * The Team Member III Operator must be able to lift moderate weights repeatedly throughout the shift. The position holder is also required to stand/walk, climb steps or ladders, make pipe connections, lift equipment parts throughout the shift and must have the ability to work in hot, humid, and cold areas. The operator must be able to work overtime and holidays when required. The operator must be able to read/write and perform basic arithmetic in order to understand the S.O.P.’s, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safe work practices. The operator performs all the assigned housekeeping and inspection program duties assigned. * The Team Member III Operator will be required to know and understand the normal operational parameters of all data documented on the operation log and what action’s to be taken if outside the normal operations. The person is also required to know and understand the process flow for each operation. * The Team Member III Operator must be able to understand the requirements of the position and successfully demonstrate proficiency in the job specific JTPRs (Job Training Progress Reports). * This position is responsible and accountable to ensure product meets food safety and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan and company policies.
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge and Skills** * At least 18 years of age; * Ability to speak, read and write the English language; * Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary; * Must be available to work overtime and on holidays when required; * Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs; * Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions; * Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures; * Ability to complete written reports, and enter data into and pull data from computer systems; * Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety practices; * Ability to maintain a clean work area according to good manufacturing processes; * And have good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts. **Education and Experience** * Two years of work experience in a manufacturing environment; * Experience in machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment is preferred. **Position Competencies** * Problem solving * Applied and continuous learning * Work standards * Initiating action * Quality orientation * Safety awareness * Working effectively with others * Communication * Professional presence
