Summary
The Nutrition Team Lead is responsible for the safe operation of the associated equipment and/or processes, the quality of incoming raw materials, the quality of the outgoing products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe work practices. This position is also responsible for maintaining 5S standards, and participating in and implementing continuous improvement. The Nutrition Team Lead must be able to communicate effectively in relaying information to team members, team leads, supervisors, and managers as applicable.
Responsibilities
The Nutrition Team Lead must be able to lift moderate weights repeatedly throughout the shift. The position holder is also required to stand/walk, climb steps or ladders, make pipe connections, lift equipment parts, and lift product bags throughout the shift and must have the ability to work in hot, humid, and cold areas. The Dry Dairy Team Lead must be able to work overtime and holidays when required. The operator must be able to read/write and perform basic arithmetic in order to understand the S.O.P.’s, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safe work practices. The Nutrition Team Lead must be able to understand the requirements of the position and successfully demonstrate proficiency in the job specific JTPRs (Job Training Progress Reports). This position is responsible and accountable to ensure product meets food safety and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan and company policies.
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge and Skills** * Minimum of 18 years old * Ability to speak, read and write the English language * Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary * Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs * Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions * Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures; * Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety practices * Complete written reports * Perform basic mathematical calculations, enter data into and pull data from computer systems * Ability to maintain a clean work area according to good manufacturing processes * Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts. * Ability to perform essential job functions which may include lifting up to 65 pounds. **Education and Experience** * Prior experience in a similar team lead and/or leadership position. * Two years work experience in a manufacturing environment;; computer proficiency in email, internet, and Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are preferred.
