Production Manager

Responsible for personnel and activities concerned with the production of clinker and cement products.

* Gather, interpret and evaluate data and implement process changes to achieve plant optimization. * Establish production standards, develop cost controls. * Coordinate production activities with quarry, maintenance, process and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. * Identify and resolve process problems, evaluate performance data and set process guidelines. * Observe, maintain and review the plant to recommend and implement action to reduce costs, increase production, and improve product quality to achieve Strategic Plan goals. * Participate in process, maintenance and environmental planning, development and implementation of projects. * Provide related training to plant personnel. Review and update Departmental descriptions. * Provide input to production personnel regarding operational variances, corrections and guidelines. * Plan, organize and supervise process trials, field and lab measurements, and all other activities related to process investigations. * Perform process calculations utilizing methods of material and heat balances involving concepts of chemistry, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and other sound engineering and scientific theory. * Provide support to Quality Control, Environmental, and PLC personnel on process related issues. * Participate in technical information exchange within the company. * Review emissions data and support environmental compliance of plant. * Prepare feasibility studies evaluating the technical, environmental and economic suitability of new processes, equipment, fuels and raw material. * Ensure compliance with company and MSHA safety rules. * Works with Plant Manager to prepare departmental budgets and AFE requests. * Manages all production and maintenance activities of Plant including raw material quality, environmental compliance and refractory purchase and installation. * Manage the implementation of Maintenance Improvement Plan (MIP) at the Plant level. * Manage spare parts inventory. * Coordinate plant wide planning efforts.

* B.S. degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology * One or more years of experience in Process and Project Engineering in the cement industry * Progressive responsibility exprience in production management with prior supervisory experience required. * Ability to communicate effectively and interact as a team member. * Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot operational problems with cement manufacturing equipment * Solid PC skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, and inventory control software. * Excellent leadership, inter-personal, oral and written communication skills.
