Leggett & Platt Inc. is seeking a Segment Controller for its Specialized Products Segment at the Corporate office in Carthage, Missouri. The Specialized Products Segment includes the company’s Automotive, Aerospace, Machinery & Technology and Commercial Vehicle Products business units. With operations around the globe, the Specialized Products Segment’s rapid growth includes revenues near $1 billion.
- You will report directly to the Segment President and you’ll have significant interaction with business unit management and accounting teams, as well as with corporate accounting, finance and tax.
- You will oversee forward-looking financial statements prepared by the business units, including forecasts and strategic plans.
- You’ll also oversee general accounting activity conducted at the business units, including financial reporting of monthly results, variance analysis, cost accounting and adherence to policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Evaluating and improving quote models and participating in global and strategic quote reviews

Working with operations and finance teams to optimize exchange rate hedging activities

Evaluating and supporting due diligence and financial modeling for acquisition activity

Participation in assessing the benefits and changes required to optimize the potential implementation of a global ERP system

Supporting operations and management with information and analysis on other major issues, such as product segmentation and plant expansions

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and minimum of eight years of accounting related experience in a manufacturing environment

CPA, MBA, or other advanced degree or certification is a strong plus

Strong analytical, problem solving and management skills

Strong interpersonal and oral/written communications skills

A team player, with a desire for professional growth
