Summary

With more than a century of experience helping people sleep better and more bedding technology patents than anyone else in the world, Leggett & Platt is the leading innovator in the sleep industry. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the planning, organization, integration, and completion of multiple engineering projects at the IDEA Center, our R&D facility, in Carthage, Missouri.

Responsibilities
  • Direct a wide variety of projects including drafting, product design, creating prototypes and production models, tradeshow samples, and product testing
  • Plan and implement project, shop, and test activities per internal and external customer requirements
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion
  • Review product drawings for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements
  • Evaluate design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
  • Consult with senior level engineers on best methods of integrating new products into the manufacturing phase and handling warranty and customer service concerns
Ideal Candidate

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or PRO/E
