Summary
Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to join our Adjustable Bed Group at our startup facility in Spring Hill, Florida. In this role, you’ll increase profitability by identifying and pursuing planning/scheduling improvement opportunities. The successful candidate must be well versed in manufacturing processes, including materials management, inventory and production control, and manufacturing scheduling and planning.
Responsibilities
* Support and integrate S&OP with manufacturing production scheduling and capacity planning throughout the supply chain * Implement inventory optimization by balancing customer service levels with inventory carrying and operational costs * Assist in training branch personnel in various inventory and production planning tools * Perform holistic assessment of the branch’s materials management process * Identify optimum production strategies and operational run sequencing * Perform value stream mapping and root cause analysis * This position will directly oversee purchasing, scheduling, and inventory control departments within the branch
Ideal Candidate
The Materials Manager must work well with managers and employees at all levels of the organization, demonstrate excellent communication and team building skills, as well as have a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement. * Bachelor’s degree, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain related field * 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a successful track record in operations, materials, and business processes * APICS CPIM certification, strongly preferred * Working knowledge of materials management & MRP best practices * Lean manufacturing experience (Just-In-Time, Pull systems, Heijunka) * Proficient with Excel & Word
