Summary
Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead the Lean Continuous Improvement effort for the Leggett & Platt US Spring business unit. The successful CI Manager will improve machinery efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the quality of our products and processes. The ideal candidate will have effective leadership and interpersonal skills to build enthusiasm across the business by implementing world class lean techniques. The CI Manager will lead numerous projects, such as managing SMED events to reduce changeover time, creating standard work and visual management for material handling, or implementing heijunka receiving and shipping processes, among others. This is a high visibility position that will work with six of Leggett’s leading manufacturing sites. With a long history of strong performance, the Bedding Group is ready for the right CI Manager to take it to the next level.
Responsibilities
* Plan and lead continuous improvement teams in various formats, projects, Kaizen events and Just Do Its * Train partners in group settings, coach on a one-to-one basis at all levels of the organization, and develop Continuous Improvement leaders at the branches * Participate in the development and execution of continuous improvement plans that support business unit strategic and performance objectives * Track and monitor the sustainment of the business unit continuous improvement activities, goals, objectives and performance
Ideal Candidate
* 4 year degree in relevant technical or business field * 5 years of experience in continuous improvement and 10 years of experience in manufacturing * The ability to travel up to 50%, mostly domestically * Broad experience and knowledge of lean and continuous improvement * Black belt is desirable * Extensive experience working with a leading lean consulting firm as a client or consultant * Ability to communicate in writing and verbally, and develop and deliver training material
