Responsibilities
MAJOR PURPOSE - The Front End Web Developer/Designer handles the bulk of the day-to-day Web design work at the company with the aim of coding out templates and pages for marketing conversion. - This position can be an entry level or mid-level position. It is an individual contributor role. COMPANY VALUES – Expectations - Firm dedication to the company values (I Am EPIC – Integrity, Agility, Excellence, Passion, Innovation, Community) Appreciates and contributes to an atmosphere of creativity and collaboration among team members Has high standards related to all front-end designs that get created for Launch That brands and businesses MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES - Create high-level front-end designs for any company businesses or projects - Code out designs to function in a WordPress environment - Execute design and conversion strategies derived from the Marketing Director or Creative Director - Develop new designs and web page templates - Write clean, well-designed code - Document code according to company processes - Contribute to all phases of the design and front end life-cycle - Contribute to idea, tactic and strategy creation related to design and front-end coding - Uphold a standard of excellence in Web design ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Work with Back End Developers to execute functionality of designs and templates - Collaborate with content staff to create engaging web pages - Develop new visions and templates for website updates (e.g., blog templates, news templates) - Tackle additional projects as assigned by Marketing Director
Ideal Candidate
- Two- or four-year degree Graphic Design, Digital Media or related fields or two to four years’ experience in graphic design or a related field - Online portfolio - Demonstrated mastery of design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, video) - Experienced working with HMTL and CSS - Knowledge of CSS - Familiarity and ability to work with a CMS such as WordPress - Knowledge of Gmail and Google apps - Time-management skills, ability to meet deadlines consistently - Ability to function in a fast-pace, IM-heavy work environment - Excellent creative and collaboration skills Ability to be on site at least 45 hours a week, Monday through Friday, in an office setting - Ability to communicate and work collaboratively - Ability to transform the ideas of others to functional web design - Ability to self-manage, drive initiatives and execute tasks to completion - Talent for prioritizing - Willingness to embrace change - A desire to be epic BONUS QUALIFICATIONS - Experience using Javascript - Experience using and designing for grid-based CSS Frameworks - Familiarity with SASS/LESS - Version control experience (Git) - Owning a personal website or blog - Having a positive social media footprint - Someone who likes to work hard and play hard
