Internal Communications and Social Media Manager

Lathrop & Gage LLP, one of the nation's leading law firms, has an immediate opening for an Internal Communications and Social Media Manager to play a key role on a new communications and marketing team. Reporting to the firm's Director of Communications, the Manager will take the lead role in executing a comprehensive internal communications program and will work to build engagement across the firm’s social media platforms. Location: Chicago, Denver, Kansas City or our St. Louis office.

* Implement internal communications plan to drive awareness of news across firm, build understanding of strategic direction and create engagement. * Develop editorial calendar and recurring features to maintain steady stream of written and video content on Beehive, the firm's intranet * Write and produce Beehive content including articles, videos, slideshows and other forms of media Compile "Friday Digest" equivalent weekly update email to firm on new Beehive stories * Work with IT to ensure technology and design of Beehive provides an effective platform to achieve internal communications objectives * Ensure visual and message consistency between internal communications and the refreshed Lathrop & Gage brand * Identify and manage appropriate internal and external resources to support creation of videos and other multi-media content * Manage the firm’s social media presence * Maintain and track analytics across internal communications and social media efforts * Plan and draft content for firm blogs * Create web content consistent with brand and style of firm’s new brand

* 5-7 years experience * Bachelor's degree * Significant experience planning, producing and maintaining strong intranet-based internal communications program * Strong sense of news with ability to recognize internal stories and themes that can be used to build external profile of the firm * Exceptional writing skills across a variety of formats * Experience with video creation and editing software * Proficiency with social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook) and experience using social media to advance a brand story * Understanding of social media and website measurement techniques * Undergraduate degree, preferably in communications, journalism or related field Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines * Experience interacting with and counseling executives at all levels * Comfortable working as part of a collaborative marketing and business development team
