Responsibilities
- Collaborate with both the scrum team on its deliverables and your colleagues in the quality organization - Implement test automation for the next generation application as a service backend. - Ensure a high quality user experience - Work closely with our backend teams to assess testing feasibility and identify risks - Setup/configure/maintain automated testing environments in a continuous integration setting - Develop test documentation, execute tests, and monitor results using application lifecycle tools. - Provide complete automated testing coverage for areas of responsibility - Review business and functional requirements documents in order to create appropriate test documentation - Deliver a set of reusable, modular tests for API components - Transform API documentation into robust, efficient automated test scripts. - Continuously improve upon the productivity and efficiency of our automated testing efforts using innovative tools and techniques. - Adhere to and promote standards for test development best practices - Stay current on new technologies and evangelize future adoption of next-generation automation tools and best practices as appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
Education - BS or MS in Computer Science or related discipline - 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or other related discipline with direct involvement in automated testing of web applications. Technologies - Experience delivering cloud or SaaS based offerings - Strong understanding of Microsoft, Java, and n-tier web technologies - Excellent understanding of current backend technologies and REST APIs QA - Strong background in functional testing and software quality best practice - A background utilizing risk-based testing approaches - Describe API response in terms of correct technical implementation and customer user scenarios - Experience with ALM or comparable test repository Automation Tools - Must have 2+ years of experience with automation tools such as SoapUI as well as related tools. Personal - Excellent English written and verbal communication skills - Demonstrated collaborative skills - Ability to work effectively independently and as a team member. - A desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced agile environment - You are passionate about reducing manual and repetitive work when designing and building complex tests or test automation
