Senior Staff Accountant

* Prepare and lead the month-end close for all Knewton entities * Ensure that all transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) * Own the general ledger and ensure proper reconciliation of all accounts * Assist in reviewing partner contracts and determining appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with GAAP * Own the accounts payable and receivable processes * Support expense management and employee reimbursements * Assist with compiling data for the annual external audit and tax preparation * Prepare and file various compliance requirements when needed * Formulate and strengthen internal control functions while simplifying processes * Assist with implementation of new accounting software * Administrative duties as needed * Mentor, train and guide junior team members

**Experience:** * BS in Accounting or Finance * 4-6 years of general accounting experience * CPA and/or Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred * International experience a plus **Skills:** * Strong understanding of GAAP * High comfort level with Excel (e.g., sumproduct functions, pivot tables) * Prior experience with QuickBooks/NetSuite preferred
