Global Tax Manager

* Be the “go-to” for all tax matters at Knewton * Assist with tax matters that arise in deal negotiations, answer ad hoc payroll tax questions, nexus questions, etc. * Maintain Knewton’s tax calendar ensuring all tax due dates are hit (domestic and foreign) * Handle all incoming tax authority notices and routine tax filings – either prepare directly or manage the preparation via outside tax counsel * Manage and support day-to-day tax affairs to ensure compliance either directly with local finance or with external advisors * Provide guidance on tax issues in various countries and build relationships with various tax authorities * Implement and monitor company transfer pricing policy in all international Knewton locations * Advise cross-functional teams on tax issues to achieve operational efficiency and business objectives * Support implementation of business initiatives from the tax perspective * Review contracts and collaborate with legal to ensure contracts contain key tax terms * Lead and facilitate all external tax audits - federal, state, and local * Prepare and facilitate a holistic state income tax and state sales tax nexus analysis and establish a process to maintain on-going compliance in identified jurisdictions

* 8-10 years of relevant experience in Big 4 and/or in-house * Bachelor’s degree in tax, finance, economics or related field * CPA and/or master’s degree preferred * Industry and high-growth experience valued * Great communication skills, well organized and leadership presence
