Responsibilities
* Liaison between field engineering and trades to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications. * Maintain working knowledge of established project procedures relating to safety, work permitting, work order systems, planning and scheduling, and preventive and predictive maintenance. * Plan work schedules; determine manpower levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, and monitor work performance and productivity of trades to ensure schedule, project rules, procedures, safety requirements efficiency etc., are maintained * Liaison with other departments, e.g. purchasing, engineering, as required to support construction schedules. * Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed. * Understand and implement lockout/tag-out procedures in a safe manner. * Form and lead an effective area or discipline team, delegate responsibilities and set goals. * Develop and maintain open communication with crews, Field Engineers/Coordinators, Safety QA/QC and clients. * Advise senior-level supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc. Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required. * Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements and document and ensure corrective measures are implemented. * Ensure that the manpower, equipment, tools, materials and design necessary to support your schedule will be available.
Ideal Candidate
* 5-10 years’ experience in Piping and as Superintendent in the Construction/Oil and Gas industry * Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management would be considered an asset but not necessary * Expert knowledge of piping and pipe planning/constructability * Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment * Knowledge of construction safety and current federal and OSHA requirements. * Broad knowledge of Engineering and Construction methods. * Ensure that the manpower, equipment, tools, materials and design necessary to support your schedule will be available. * Working knowledge of computers * Ability to travel based on business needs * Must be willing to relocate to job sites.
