Automation Test Engineer

A Kforce client is currently seeking an Automation Test Engineer to join their team and can participate in cross functional project teams in San Diego, CA. This position will be involved in the verification testing of enterprise scale applications.

* Defines test cases based on requirements, use cases, technical specifications, and interactions with developers and scientists * Ensures that all software requirements and use cases can be traced to test cases * Performs smoke, functional, system, integration, and/or regression tests according to the defined test cases and protocols * Adheres to software testing processes and procedures * Keeps record of test progress and results and records defects into the defect tracking system * Investigates and reports technical issues by communicating and working with various departments including R&D, Product and Project Management, and Application support groups * Estimates test related task durations and meets scheduled testing objectives

**Requirements:** * BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Web Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or other related degree * A minimum of 3 year's cumulative experience testing software * Must be flexible, independent and self-motivated * Excellent verbal and written communication skills **Preferred Skills and Experience:** * Medical Device testing, ISO and FDA verification processes * Automated UI testing with Selenium * API/Web Services testing * Agile software development methodologies * Software development life-cycle and software development tools * Ability to work on complex problems, identify causes, and develop creative solutions * Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions **Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions:** * Work environment characteristics are representative of both office and laboratory environments * Regularly walks, stands, and sits * Regularly works on a computer for approximately 6-8 hours a day
