Research and Development Software Engineer

You will be working for the Component Analysis and Accessories Center of Excellence (CAA COE) located at the company headquarters in beautiful Santa Rosa, California approximately 50 miles north of San Francisco. At the CAA COE, we develop world-leading products used to design and test next-generation products in cellular communications, satellite systems, automotive collision avoidance, and other high frequency wireless systems. You will be working on projects as a member of a team that gathers requirements, analyzes, designs, prototypes, develops and tests software, firmware and mobile applications that will go into current and future Vector Network Analyzer products. You will be working with hardware design engineers and other software engineers to gather internal and external customer requirements to create a complete system and integrate your deliverables into final shipping products. While part of a team, you will also be working independently on your priorities and tasks. The scope and complexity of your tasks will be based on your existing knowledge and capabilities as well as how fast you can acquire new skills.

• Work with planning group on gathering software requirements
• Design and develop software, firmware or mobile applications for electronic test and measurement products; meet the schedule and scope needs of the project
• Write unit and system tests for software
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Perform build, release and install duties to deploy the software

Qualifications:

• BSEE/BSCS
• The ability to work in a team, with multiple customers/partners and across geographic boundaries
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and design
• Working knowledge of C++

Desired Qualifications:

• MSEE/MSCS
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio development tools
• Experience with Mobile application development
• Knowledge of software development processes, source code configuration management tools, etc
• Software architectural design, GUI design, Software Re-Use and Leverage Experience
• Experience with Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, DVM, RF Sources, Power Meters, Detectors, etc
