Summary
At Kerry, we hire graduates into real roles with real responsibilities from day one. This position supports engineering and process improvement projects within the manufacturing environment, working closely with Engineering, Production and Quality Assurance leaders. In some cases this role supervisors other employees, always fulfilling these responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and resolving problems.
Responsibilities
* Review existing manufacturing lines for areas of improvements, efficiency gains, and safety. * Support line relocations and plant consolidations/start-ups. * Develop process flow diagrams. * Define line speeds, rates, and throughput. * Direct installations via outside contractors and design resources. * Oversee general construction projects and manage to budget and schedule. * Ensure that production lines are built to GMP standards. * Support multiple projects in multiple locations. * Provide preliminary cost estimates and scope development for future projects. * Other duties or projects assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Ideal Candidate
* Possession of or working towards the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / Chemical Engineering or Food Processing. Preference will be given to candidates with a history of academic excellence, manifest by high grade point average and/or faculty recommendation. * No experience is required; preference will be given to candidates with relevant internship or work experience. * Ability and willingness to relocate and travel as needed. Several initial assignments are expected, ranging from 4 month temporary projects to relocation assignments of 18-24 months. * Willingness to learn and perform in a fast-paced, hands-on capacity. * Experience with AutoCAD or willingness and ability to develop proficiency. * Strong system skills, particularly with Database management.
