Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the product development of complex ventilation products with a focus on innovative devices that address unmet customer needs. The incumbent will be a member of the ME team through various phases of product development. The incumbent works closely with members of the project team (marketing, manufacturing, quality, testing, etc.) to define user needs, generate design concepts and prototypes, perform design evaluations (such as tolerance analysis, FEA, simulated use testing, cycle testing, etc.), and support development of product and process validation plans and testing. Must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Medical Device exp. is highly desired

* Provide Mechanical Engineering support in the design of ventilator products. * Design, verify, validate and implement new designs and design enhancements brought about by changes to mechanical parts and sub-assemblies * Maintain the integrity and safety of medical equipment with broad range of mechanical parts. * Troubleshoot and resolve field and/or production failures. * Identify alternatives for obsolete/allocated components. * Lead and participate in the implementation of new features or designs while working with a cross functional core team. * Perform operations in accordance with established safe working procedures, regulations, standards and general safety rules ensuring that attention is given to special hazards associated with the particular area of work. **Department Specific/Non-essential Functions:** * Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

**Education:** * B.S. or M.S. in mechanical engineering. **Experience:** * 2+ years mechanical engineering experience. **Preferred Skills/Qualifications:** * Medical device design experience. * Experience with fluid dynamic design * Experience with plastics design * Skills/Competencies: Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software * Tolerance Analysis and GD&T * Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills and abilities. * Exhibits a strong motivation to do the right thing regardless of time constraints. * Well-organized self-starter willing to work in a cross-functional environment.
