Responsibilities
  • Mechanical engineering of custom equipment for the Food, Dairy, and Sanitary Stainless Steel industries.
  • Generate engineering drawings in compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and company standards; developing technical specifications, design calculations and analytical solutions.
  • Provide creative and innovative solutions to meet design specifications and solve problems with new and existing designs.
  • Develop proposals to include scope, schedule, and cost estimates.
  • Analyze and evaluate system designs using techniques such as advanced calculation, 3D solid modeling and physical testing.
  • Provide on-site support and trouble shooting at client sites.
  • Handle multiple assignments and manage deadline commitments.
  • Communicate with other company operations on project requirements. Inspect fabrication activities, interacting with shop personnel and suppliers.
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks relying upon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and objectives.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 3D Modeling experience.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in a custom equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with design for regulatory compliance and safety practices.
  • Mechanical experience with manufacturing demonstrating and understanding for process control methodologies, troubleshooting, and resolving process issues.
  • Piping system drawings and elements; P&IDs, general arrangements, pumps, valves, instrumentation, etc.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels within the organization.
  • Must be capable of performing multi-tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must function effectively and productively individually and within a team focused work group.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
