Summary
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Intern. Assist in process development and improvement activities, the development and validation of tools/fixtures/processes in support of new product launches and of legacy products, review of process flow using lean concepts and tools, identifying cost reduction opportunities in design or manufacturing processes and implementing strategies to realize cost savings.
Responsibilities
* Support New Product Development Timelines by assisting the Manufacturing Engineers with designing tooling and processes at the prototype and pilot phases of new product introductions. * Assists Manufacturing Engineers in supporting and sustaining product life cycles in manufacturing and service departments. Scope of work will vary from assisting in root cause determination of field and floor failures to assisting with identifying production bottlenecks and resolving them real-time to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled. * Assists in the development of space requirements for various functions and plans or improves production methods including layout, production flow, tooling and production equipment, material, fabrication, and assembly methods. * Regular attendance is an essential job function. * Will spend part of his/her time as a member of continuous improvement teams undertaking projects and seeking ways to improve the quality of KSI’s products and services.
Ideal Candidate
* Must be enrolled in a college or university and pursuing at least a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related field. * Manual dexterity for computer, optical-mechanical, and electronic work. * 3D modeling knowledge with SolidWorks is highly desired.
