Summary
This position is responsible for developing a procurement strategy which drives improvements in supplier quality, delivery and pricing. Duties include sourcing for raw materials, negotiation of supply agreements, ensuring timely availability of materials and providing tactical direction for the purchasing team.
Responsibilities
* Manage the purchasing team and related business systems. * Ability to create and implement innovation supply chain solutions which reduce lead time, improve inventory turns, and generate favorable purchase price variance. * Prioritize and monitor supplier schedules and supplier shop loads in a manner to ensure on-time deliveries. * Participate in the selection and qualification of new suppliers who meet quality, delivery and pricing targets. * Align the supply chain initiatives with strategic corporate and divisional goals and objectives. * Analysis of supplier operations to determine factors affecting pricing. Prepares reports, quotes and documentation accordingly. * Reviews agreements for conformity to established rates and rules. * Works with Quality Assurance team to review and report supplier performance. * Adherence to departmental financial budgets. * Evaluate changes in products per organizational risk management practices to ensure effective, safe and complaint devices are released to the market in accordance with current state and federal standards
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors Degree (MBA preferred) * APICS Certification desired * 7-10 years of progressive responsibility in sourcing/supply chain required preferably with an ISO certified medical device manufacturing company. * Expertise in lean manufacturing environment preferred * Extensive experience in supplier negotiations, cost reduction programs and inventory management. * Skilled in using SAP, kanban systems, and Excel. * Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills required
