Summary
Based at Global Pathways at Pace University [Kaplan International], the Operations Coordinator works to ensure the seamless delivery of Kaplan administration. Provides administrative support to management, members of the Global Pathways team, and students. Follows up in a timely manner in response to student and staff requests. May provide support to colleagues in the International Student and Scholars Office as well as general international student population. May nurture prospective student leads, create and maintain course bookings, and liaise with the Pace University admissions’ office.
Responsibilities
* Serving as the primary point of contact and resource on frequently asked questions for callers and visitors to the Global Pathways Office as well as those visiting the International Students and Scholars Office. * Processing documents, performing accuracy checks, scanning, indexing and filing. * Following up by email and phone on basic student inquiries and questions about the program. * Running regular reports working with Excel as well as Kaplan’s internal database system. * Overall, working closely with departmental staff to support the services and programs provided to international students. Handling detailed, confidential, legal and personal information as well as situations/problems requiring a high degree of discretion
Ideal Candidate
* Two or more years of administrative support experience, preferably in higher education or a similar non-profit organization. (Candidates with associates degrees are considered with adequate previous work experience.) * Strong computer skills in a PC/Windows environment, including, Outlook, word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), presentation software (PowerPoint), administrative computer systems (Banner), and electronic mail. * Demonstrated very sharp attention to detail, organizational ability, and talent for simultaneously managing multiple tasks and proactively managing workload in a student-facing office. * Excellent interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity * Ability to work across different cultures and styles at all levels of the organization * Possess strong commitment to international education and strong work ethic, personal experience studying or working abroad preferred
