Summary
Responsible for co-design, oversight and implementation of the Behavioral Health curriculum for the residency program and medical student rotations. Direct patient care within the residency’s clinical practice. Leadership in the design and implementation of integrated behavioral health models in the residency practice. May provide clinical supervision, recruitment, training, evaluation and scheduling of Behavioral Health students, interns or fellows.
Responsibilities
* Assists other faculty to ensure behavioral health is integrated in all aspects of the curriculum. * Participates in residency candidate interviewing and selection process. * Facilitates or co-facilitates scheduled didactics and skills’ workshop for residents, faculty and staff. * Participates in comprehensive competency based coaching and evaluation of the residents, including but not limited to clinical competency committee, direct observation, individualized learning plans, feedback and coaching. * Participates in faculty meetings, retreats and committees. * Assists residents and faculty with scholarly projects. * Participates and presents in regional, state and national meetings. * Clinical duties: Provides individual and family counseling to patients in the residency practice, provides * on-site consultation for clinical staff, provides ongoing collaboration on shared cases, develops and facilitates group medical visits, develops models for integrated behavioral health (warm hand offs, brief interventions).
Ideal Candidate
**Performance requirements:** * Knowledge and skills in health behavior change. * Knowledge and skills in health psychology. * Proficiency in counseling skills. * Knowledge and skills in graduate medical education. * Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. **Qualifications** * A Master’s degree or equivalent in Psychology, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy. * Demonstrated experience in integrated behavioral health models. * Teaching experience in medical education. * License eligible in the state of California.
