Patient Care Attendant - Behavioral Health Center

Participates in 1:1 care of the patient on a assigned unit. Conducts care in a manner which is consistent with the written philosophy and objectives of the hospital. Provides 1:1 care which is therapeutically effective and promotes patient safety and welfare. Communicates information well with RN and other team members. Is receptive to supervisory feedback, utilizing it effectively.

**Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Must be an enrolled RN nursing student in an accredited nursing program. * American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). * Self-motivated, able to initiate tasks as instructed and carry out directions or instructions, both written and verbal. * Able to speak English clearly and write legibly. * Ability to record messages and keep simple records. * American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). **EXPERIENCE:** * Has completed psychiatric nursing rotation in school. * Has obtained recommendation from nursing instructor for working in a psychiatric setting. * Bachelor’s degree and at least one year’s previous experience working or volunteering in a mental health inpatient setting may be considered in lieu of completing psychiatric nursing rotation. * Must provide a letter of recommendation from nursing instructor regarding clinical skills and demonstrated abilities.
