Responsibilities
* Manages and maintains the Local Area Network, including operational maintenance, availability, capacity planning, monitoring of critical LAN and other network related environments, with little to no supervision. * Considered an enterprise network expert. * Works with Engineering team to plan and coordinate the future state of the network for JMH. * Is responsible for systems integration, design and support for core enterprise networks ensuring operational effectiveness and security safeguards. * Provides level three technical and escalation support for network systems and technology platforms. * Is responsible for network provisions, performance tuning, adding networks, scripting for automating of tasks, assigning ports, error tracking, data movement, software configurations, product evaluation, and addressing interoperability issues, as well as mentoring Engineer I staff. * Leads or participates in cross-functional team that manages a full spectrum of technology issues and problems. * Needs to be available for on-call duty when necessary.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information sciences, engineering, or math required; experience or alternative degree may be considered in lieu of required education.. * Minimum of 6 years experience in complex corporate systems environment with a wide variety of information management systems, networks and technologies. * Minimum of 4 years of experience in Windows/Linux systems engineering, design, implementation and support of large scale LANs, preferably in a healthcare setting. * Experience leading complex technical projects * Advanced technical knowledge of Intel-based operating systems (Windows, Linux), and Windows Active Directory to include: * Advanced knowledge of local and wide area networking on multiple platforms: Windows, and Linux, Citrix farms * Advanced experience with VMware virtualization technologies. * Advanced experience with Citrix and thin-client technologies. * Advanced hardware expertise with server blade solutions. * Advanced knowledge of storage solutions, backup technologies and high availability cluster solutions * Advanced knowledge of network protocols and routing, network, server, and host operating systems; IP networking, internet and intranet technologies; email, office automation and collaboration technologies; client operating systems, server hardware, software, and administration. * 2 or more of the following certifications required: MCSE, Linux, VMware, Citrix, or other OS engineer level certification. * Certified Technology Specialist or vendor specific Accredited Integration Specialist (AIS).
