Summary
The Social Media Manager for John Hancock Investments will develop and execute all aspects of our social media strategy. The Manager will take John Hancock Investments’ social media programs to the next level, highlighting the firm’s thought leadership and investment approach and expertise while driving engagement with key audiences across multiple channels. Through management and supervision of all social properties, including high-profile executive channels, and integration of social strategy into all marketing campaigns, the Manager will help the team define successful key performance indicators, refine social media efforts, and assess existing and new tools and platforms to ensure strategic delivery of digital objectives. The Manager will continually monitor trends and opportunities in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy and determine relevancy for our business. The candidate must display proven in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be best utilized to reach our key audiences. In addition to the strategic oversight of our social strategy, the Manager will manage all day-to-day activities related to social media including: * Curating published content (images, video, written) for use across social channels * Oversight of our monitoring and listening services and coordination of responses to/engagement with users * Development of the firm’s paid and organic search efforts * Monitoring of effective benchmarks and best practices for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analysis and reporting on effectiveness of campaigns in order to maximize results.
Responsibilities
* Generate a new level of engagement with key stakeholders and influencers by developing a full social media strategy and campaigns that drive awareness for John Hancock Investments. * Develop and set direction for high impact content for all key social media channels that accurately capture our messaging and perspective. * Refine our social media and digital programs by leveraging benchmarking, web and social media metrics, and analytics intelligence. * Work closely with legal, compliance and sales to lead the adoption of social strategies by John Hancock Investments business consultants. * Develop partnerships with key partner firms around social media adoption and thought leadership * Continually evaluate new technologies to advance our social media efforts * Become an advocate for the firm in social media spaces by engaging in relevant industry dialogue. * Develop productive relationships with key contacts at social networks, such as Twitter and LinkedIn.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's Degree is required * 8-10 years of experience in a marketing/digital role * Experience in mutual fund industry is highly desired but not a pre-requisite * Ad agency experience is a plus * Management experience is a plus * Knowledge of industry, markets, investments and investment concepts * Capacity to work in a fast-paced, often changing environment * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Creative and innovative thinker with a solution-oriented approach. * Demonstrated experience managing internal and external client relationships. * Ability to persuade, manage time, prioritize effectively and be goal oriented. * Comfortable using and learning new technologies
