Summary
The Investor Accounting Analyst will be responsible for the cash control functions for the Servicing portfolio. They will also work closely with the payment processing area to assure cash is processed timely and flows smoothly. Will act as system administrator by running the daily transaction and disbursement reports and store all system generated reports, daily balancing and all the cash support online. The Investor Accounting Analyst will need to demonstrate problem solving skills with the ability to track loan payments through numerous bank accounts. Bank reconciliations will be a major responsibility of this position.
Responsibilities
* Cutoff daily system generated FICS transaction and disbursement reports * Reconcile daily the collection clearing account * Reconcile monthly custodial accounts for FHLMC, FNMA, GNMA and others * Generate and post the daily Commercial Accountant file and prepare the daily movement of funds * Send daily positive pay file to the bank using the US Bank data distribution services * Record retention, filing all daily cash support as well as monthly investor reports * Report and remit timely to FHLMC, FNMA and GNMA. * Stay current on all agency reporting and remitting requirements to assure we’re in compliance with each agencies guidelines. * Utilize customer service skills to provide superior service to clients and investors * Initiate process improvements that increase either quality or efficiency * Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned by Sr. Investor Accounting Analyst * Look for opportunities to enhance understanding of transactions or processes, take on additional responsibilities of an Analyst position, and discuss areas where the individual can contribute additional value to the team
Ideal Candidate
**Education and Experience** * Undergraduate degree in a business related field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business) or related experience * 2 + years of experience with investor requirements of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD/FHA **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** * Willingness and ability to learn new technology * Ability to work independently, unsupervised, and as a team player * Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and organization skills. * Strong time management skill and ability to operate under demanding deadlines * Excellent attention to detail with the ability to audit own work * Knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
