A growing engineering and manufacturing company, located north of Pittsburgh, is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Technician.
- Commissioning of measurement systems and sub-systems (hardware, software) used in the metals industry.
- Installation supervision on-site working with OEM’s, contractors and end-users for new installation and system upgrades.
- Provide repair, maintenance, on-call emergency support as required and maintain communication with department manager while in the field.
- Provide customer training on-site for operational and technical end-users.
- Write service and commissioning reports, and follow up with customers.
- Revision of system documentation and drawings.
- Update and write procedures for new equipment.
- Identify equipment improvements/bugs in system software, and report appropriately to engineering department.
- Make effective use of downtime in office, this includes customer phone support, service contract follow-ups, and internal project support.
- AS and/or BS Degrees in Electrical or Electronics Engineering required
- Minimum of 5 years of field service experience, preferably within the metals industry
- Strong electrical, electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of X-Ray and Optical measuring devices for heavy industrial use a plus
- Should possess strong computer skills, including experience with Windows, Visual Basic and networking skills
- Must be willing to travel 60% within the US; occasional overseas travel
