Summary
JCPenney seeks a Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Analyst to support the needs of the Digital Platform Financial Team. This position will be responsible for providing a high level of financial planning and analysis support to senior management for assigned business team(s). The principal objective of this position is to help ensure company resources are used effectively and efficiently by providing sound financial analyses and tools that guide better management decisions.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and review capital expenditure funding request documentation for assigned business team(s) including review of business case scenario and select financial metrics (IRR, NPV and Discounted Payback). * Validate funding requests for compliance with capitalization accounting policy and assure proper classification of capital vs. expense. * Develop and execute financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis designed to improve capital expenditure reporting for assigned business team(s). * Collect data through interviews, analysis and other research techniques to support the development, implementation and evaluation of departmental programs. * Designs and/or assists in the design of communication material delivered to senior management, using high level Excel and PowerPoint skills. * Flexible to make changes and analyze different opportunities with short notice. * Strong communication skills and ability to work with many personalities, timelines, priorities and expectations.
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS degree, MBA preferred * 2+ years finance analysis experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility on project workload. * Project Finance experience a plus * Advanced analytic, financial modeling, and reporting skills * Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capability required, Access capability a plus. * Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions working in an ambiguous environment * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
