Summary

At Javelin, the Senior Director of Client Service develops and achieves client objectives while serving as a trusted advisor for our clients' advertising and business needs. The ideal candidate has successfully led a high-visibility, Fortune 500 account in the Entertainment/Telco/Wireless industries and/or subscription-based businesses.

The individual will lead and cultivate a large client service team while partnering with teammates across the agency, including strategic planning, creative, technology, project management and analytics. The work, itself, is a combination of direct tactics (email, direct mail, social, mobile) designed to work in concert in reducing churn, driving revenue and improving brand perception. He/she will also work hand-in-hand with the finance and accounting groups to optimize account and company financial health for this growing business.

This role requires a strategic thinker, confident in taking calculated risks and to follow through on initiatives and commitments. You will create and co-create ideas that move our clients’ business forward, and work collaboratively to influence and inspire others to bring them to life.

The nature of this work is customer lifecycle management. If you understand onboarding new customers appropriately, communicating to a large base of customers with variable messages and offers based on behavioral/transactional attributes, and coming up with ways to make customers feel valued and more loyal – this may be the right role for you.

Responsibilities
  • Drive marketing strategy and innovation to deliver against client objectives
  • Identify client needs and present strategic recommendations
  • Capacity for creative/innovative thinking and analysis, ability to identify and remove roadblocks
  • Cultivate the agency team with hands-on management, inspiration and a commitment to team members’ career development
  • Analyze data to form comprehensive points of view on customer behavior, campaign performance and optimization opportunities
  • Leadership directly and indirectly that fosters an engaging environment where people are having fun, doing great work and learning every day
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the client’s industry, trends, competitive insights and emerging technology
  • Travel up to 20%
Ideal Candidate
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation abilities, natural leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Previous Fortune 100 account experience on the agency side or equivalent client side marketing role
  • Ability to influence executive-level decision makers
  • Solid track record of fostering and maintaining senior relationships within various departments
  • Strong expertise and fluency in CRM best practices and channels, including email, direct mail, social and mobile
  • Digital orientation and new business experience a plus
  • Insatiable curiosity and finesse in pushing the envelope
  • Nice to be around and a pleasure to work with Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Advertising preferred
