Staff Accountant in Boulder, Colorado

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the accounting team with responsibility for preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts also lending support to sales and use tax maintenance and filing.

• Prepare and record standard and non-recurring monthly journal entries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to general ledger, investigating and correcting any differences in a timely manner
• Maintain fixed asset list to aid with the reconciliations for book purposes, property taxes, and corporate taxes
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing
• Coordinate with customers and other departments to document and maintain sales tax exemptions
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax filings
• Support accounting department and management with year-end audits
• Assist with requests from internal and external parties, as necessary
• Accomplish all tasks assigned in a timely and effective manner

Qualifications: Experience, Competencies and Education

• BS or BA Degree in Accounting/Finance required
• Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience
• Strong reconciliation and technical accounting background
• Fully understand month end procedures, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliation
• High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with NetSuite and Hyperion helpful
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers within appropriate communication means
• Strong inclination towards sustainability in business and personal environments
