Summary
The IT Project Manager position offers an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Management professional to deliver strategic IT projects for a growing nonprofit organization leading the search for tomorrow’s cures. Reporting to the IT PMO, the IT Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic enterprise IT projects within agreed upon budget, scope, and timelines. The position requires an individual with the ability to manage numerous projects across various functional disciplines as well as a general knowledge of the management of information technology systems and processes.
Responsibilities
* Define project scope, goals, deliverables and success criteria that support business goals in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders * Manage project from Initiation to Closure * Complete project deliverables according to JAX PM Methodology * Clearly communicate and manage expectations to team members and stakeholders * Identify and mitigate project risks and issues assessing and communicating impact * Effectively manage project scope through change management approach including assessing and presenting impacts to project * Determine if external consultants or contractors will be required to complete the project plan and acquire * Track and report on project milestones and provide status report in JAX PPM tool * Lead, coach, and motivate project team members on a proactive basis * Determine project and product measures and assess post-project to determine how well results were achieved * Identify and execute any low to no risk schedule crashing * Respond to changes in environment and priorities * Excellent written and verbal communications skills * Build effective relationships with senior management, external departments, and contractors/vendors
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field * Minimum 5 years work experience in IT project management * Proven track record of delivering strategic IT projects * Demonstrated leadership managing people to achieve desired results * Project Management Professional and/or Lean Black Belt certification preferred
