Summary
The Operations Director is responsible for multiple districts (10-15 districts, with 30 – 40 locations per district) to achieve planned sales and profits. Leads assigned District Managers to achieve Comp and New Store Sales through consistent operational excellence, discipline, and a committed team who executes flawlessly and are obsessive about taxes, our products, people and our customers. This role supports Jackson Hewitt and organizational departments by communicating company directives to their assigned area. Develops and directs District Managers to ensure they deliver exceptional customer service and achieve key strategies and corporate directives. This role is responsible for managing the regional budgets, recruiting, staffing, scheduling, store set-up , store operations and implementing marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Perform store visits with the Divisional Vice President and District Managers to evaluate and identify business opportunities to improve sales growth, and customer service. * Manage budgeting, forecasting and the objectives. Accountable for achieving monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets and cash control in the assigned regional area. * Lead and support company initiatives. * Maximize revenue and profitability for each retail store within your regional territory. * Hire, develop and retain great talent. * Promote an outstanding customer experience within each district and retail store within your regional territory. * Track sales and performance progress, and provide consistent coaching and feedback. * Oversee and make recommendations for incentive programs that motivate the District and retail teams to achieve monthly sales targets; Collaborate on sales promotion activities to maximize revenue. * Monitor store profitability, manage payroll and expense budgets, and work collaboratively with leadership to develop long range goals and objectives. * Collaborate on annual budgets, forecasts and sales reports. * Facilitate and execute new store openings, relocations and /or closing of existing locations. * Work to resolve issues that affect the stores service, efficiency, and productivity. * Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company work groups. * Conduct regular store audits and track trends to ensure action plans and control procedures are in place and observed. * Inspect premises of stores to ensure that adequate security exists and that physical facilities comply with safety and environmental codes and ordinances. * Follow all company safety standards and practices, accident reporting procedures, and applicable OSHA regulations. * Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Retail, Management or related field, or equivalent work experience required. * Top candidates for this position will have a minimum of five years multi-unit retail management experience managing a retail store providing a high level of customer service, performing multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, and consistently meeting sales goals. * Must be able to hold an Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN). * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
