Summary
Jack Henry & Associates is seeking an Experienced Malware Research Engineer. This position will work under general supervision and identify malicious samples by family. The Malware Research Engineer will analyze multiple code sources to identify malicious activity and research emerging threats.
Responsibilities
* Performs analysis on systems and malicious samples to identify current infection trends. Uses tools to determine appropriate actions to take. * Reverse engineers software and analyzes multiple code sources to identify malicious activity. * Responds to alerts and security related issues to gather samples for analysis. * Performs incident response; identifies unauthorized access to systems; may inventory computers for unauthorized programs and suspected malicious activity * Provides moderately complex troubleshooting and customer support regarding security related issues. Identifies and evaluates new antimalware and incident response tools. * Provides support for security-related projects as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications:** * Minimum of 3 years of information technology or information security experience that includes experience with debuggers, disassemblers, and hex editors such as (IDA pro, Immunity Debugger) * At least 1 year of coding experience with languages such as Python and C/C++ * Experience in analyzing malicious web code (Java, HTML, JavaScript,php) **Preffered Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree preferred in relevant IT field (Software Engineering, Computer Science, Network Security). * Malware Analysis/Reverse Engineering related certification (GREM) or other similar training preferred
