Responsibilities

IXL is looking for a passionate, experienced Engineering Development Manager to lead our IXL Product team. The Product team gets to the heart of users' needs, developing innovative solutions and captivating experiences. The Product team develops and manages our popular learning product at IXL.com, with an immediate impact on millions of students and teachers every day. This team also develops the powerful internal products and tools that drive the success of a dynamic, growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Enjoy leading all engineering initiatives related to our IXL Product team and users.
  • Manage the technical design, engineering from coding to QA, and deployment for our IXL Product.
  • Work cross functionally with our Executive, Product Management, QA, and Design teams to maintain and build features.
  • Provide excellent project management direction and motivation to the team.
  • Manage and build a high-performance engineering team.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Be a proactive, results-oriented manager who will make a difference at a company that teachers, students, and parents love.
Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  • 5+ years direct experience in software engineering.
  • 2+ years leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Excellent programming skills in Java or other object-oriented language.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical-reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for improving education through technology.
