* The Senior Aviation Mechanical Engineer services provides structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to characterize the performance of aerospace components and airframe structure. * The Senior Aviation Mechanical Engineer designs and executes tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

* This position requires current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or the District of Columbia. * Minimum of five years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering or Damage Tolerance. * Proficient with finite element methods, solid mechanics, solid modeling, and numerical methods. * Proficient with using MATLAB and Simulink using scripting and programming to handle and analyze large data sets. * Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to design and manufacture aerospace parts. * Proficient with design software, including AUTOCAD, Unigraphics , SolidWorks, and Pro-Engineer. * Proficient with in-situ damage characterization methods and data analysis. * Proficient with using finite element method and aero-structural life cycle analysis tools, including ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN, PATRAN, COSMOS/M, and AFGROW. * Background with linear and nonlinear modeling, including elastoplasticity, contact modeling, or fatigue modeling. * Experienced in designing aerospace mechanical subsystems (for example, landing gears). * Knowledgeable of U.S. aviation regulatory agencies certification to aircraft structural components and structure. * Skilled in the use of standard and specialized tools and the equipment of the discipline. * Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. * Proficient personal computer skills to include a strong working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office suite of products. * Ability to work in and around aircraft, include the top of wings. * Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Structural Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Acoustics Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
