Summary
The Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting will be primarily responsible for ensuring assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with the monthly close calendar. Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to, the reconciliation and analysis of Debt-related balance sheet and income statement accounts, overseeing day-to-day accounting tasks in assigned areas and leading or assisting with special projects.
Responsibilities
* Compile monthly debt activity data, analyze transactions and record monthly journal entries for multiple debt portfolios. * Review monthly bank account reconciliations for the company’s cash disbursements and depository accounts. * Oversee accounting for debt, cash and certain general and administrative expenses including the review of related Corporate balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations. * Update policy and procedure documents (as required). * Collaborate with Capital Markets and Financial Planning groups in the preparation and consolidation of financial data required for forecasting and business planning. * Manage the workflow of one accountant, including training and mentoring. * Prepare working papers and schedules for the Company’s interim and fiscal year-end audit and calendar year-end tax return. * Lead or assist with special projects and other duties as requested.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA or MBA preferred. * Five plus years of general accounting experience including experience with loan accounting and/or equivalent financial services experience. * Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills utilizing v-lookups and pivot tables. SAP experience a plus. * Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Willingness to embrace change and ability to deal with ambiguity. * Detail oriented, highly self-motivated, positive team-player attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision. * Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A professional manner necessary for collaborative interaction with Corporate and operating division personnel.
