Accountant
Irvine Company
(Newport Beach, California)The primary responsibility of the Accountant is to capitalize assets for new development, tenant improvements, acquisitions and other property transactions in the Irvine Company Community Development Division.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly capital expenditure forecasts and variance analysis
- Perform proforma updates, including coordination with other departments
- Monthly distribution of homebuilder dashboarding information
- Weekly bid review/coordination with General Contractor and Project Management
- Maintain Executive Committee board authorized dollars in project system
- Review Builder monthly change order and final budget contract requests, and related back-up documentation
- Review Builder monthly reimbursement requests
- Review construction and consultant contracts and change orders, as well as other non-contract related costs
- Manage utility payment process and database, including shut down of accounts
- Assist with other day-to-day project accounting duties, as requested
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance with 1-3 years of public (or 2-5 years of private) accounting experience in real estate or construction
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, able to meet established deadlines
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Access
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and organizational skills
Special Experience Desired:
- Experience with accounting & project systems and related reporting tools (SAP and BPC preferable)
