Summary
The Federal Account Manager will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and capturing new opportunities for Ipswitch’s software products and services to Federal Government and other Public Sector markets. The individual will partner with Business Development Team & other Public Sector Account Managers to pursue qualified leads, conduct prospecting, further qualify and develop opportunities, schedule and perform web-based product demonstrations, and be responsible for closing opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with Manager, Government Sales and Federal Account Managers to drive revenue and achieve sales goals. * Effectively utilize results-oriented sales process methodology to identify and capture high-revenue sales opportunities. * Develop and effectively close sales leads generated through outbound phone, Internet marketing, online demonstrations, trade shows and target account lists. * Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing accounts. * Work in conjunction with Sales Engineers to schedule, organize and deliver web-based product demonstrations and conference calls. * Document and track all activity through web-based sales force automation tools, including detailed activity reports, setting tasks for follow-up, lead tracking and probability statistics. * Maintain technical knowledge and understanding of product and potential impacts of new and competing technologies. * Prepare and send appropriate follow-up, marketing and collateral materials and quotations via mail and email to prospective clients. * Provide marketing support at networking events, trade shows, demonstrations and client visits as needed.
Ideal Candidate
* 5 - 10 years of software sales experience * Government sales experience * Bachelor’s Degree preferred * Formal Sales process training preferable (i.e. Miller Heiman, Sandler, etc.) * Experience working with Marketing on driving targeted sales campaigns * Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Must be highly motivated, sales driven and have a results oriented work ethic * Familiar with Salesforce.com and WebEx * Travel as required (10%)
