Summary
As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will ensure that systems supported by this BPA Call are properly accounted for and their configuration information is current in the CG Configuration Management Database. You will be responsible for providing accurate information on configurations and corresponding documentation to support Incident, Problem, and Delivery Management processes. You will ensure that standardized procedures are used for timely and efficient handling of all changes, minimizing the number and impact of change-related incidents to TISCOM's customers and USCG end users.
Responsibilities
* Review, schedule & track all system changes/modifications/updates * Track removal of DHCP servers from AD * Track Enterprise switch installations & configuration changes * Track and document deletion/creation of Public Folder Store * Track Computer Object Removal (Server Others) (Enterprise) * Track Active Directory Replication Topology Changes * Track DHCP scope creation (new subnet)/modification * Coordinate implementation of changes to Enterprise (Release Manager) * Recommend approval to FSC items (Release Manager) * Processing IAVA action items, OS/security patches in accordance with TISCOM guidance * Monitor warranties on enterprise servers * Recommend what period warranties for enterprise servers should be extended * Keep virtual copy of Active Directory updated to match production * Train watch standers, SMEs and Virtual Team Members on actual implementation using virtual copy of AD environment * Perform/Track changes to Enterprise Naming Standards Document * Draft and release News and updates bulletins * Schedule outages for both the commands throughout the Coast Guard for outages that will effect enterprise equipment or user * Draft and release TISCOM Alerts * Process new work/requests coming into TISCOM from field/HQ * Update CMDB * Coordinate & schedule Firmware and BIOS upgrades on enterprise servers * Remote Installation Server (RIS)/Windows Deployment Service (WDS) Server Authorizations/De-authorizations * Review, test, and release Technical Bulletins * Review and test documentation (build, installation, user manuals, etc.) * Perform hardware testing * Manage Change Requests * Perform final system testing on products and upgrades * Document and report final testing results of products tested * Coordinate installation of products on servers or workstations * Create rollout schedules * Coordinate product rollouts with other areas * Maintain milestones schedule * Ensure rollout(s) are performed according to schedule * Maintain documents, drawings, maps, etc. of enterprise * Participate in recommended modifications to the Active Directory Forest. * Install and configure devices. * Work with field units to schedule routine maintenance and planned upgrades on enterprise systems. * Establish power requirements matrix of approved CG devices. * Develop and maintain operating policies, planned maintenance schedules and procedures * Maintain enterprise server documentation including rack diagrams and cable layouts
Ideal Candidate
* Secret Clearance * 10 years of IT configuration management experience desired * Bachelor's degree desired
