Data Scientist

Insikt was born out of our realization that banks will not be the lenders of tomorrow – brands will. Traditional banks, saddled with new rules and regulation, are no longer in the business of taking risk and making loans and cannot be relied on to deliver credit access and opportunity to the masses. Instead, tomorrow’s lenders will be media companies, retailers and prominent brands that have deep relationships with their customers and want to step in to help their customers get a fair loan.

Insikt is searching for a Data Scientist to push our Credit Risk team to the next level. Risk management is core to our business; making the right lending & investing decisions is key to delivering responsible loan products to our customers and robust, high-performing funds to our investors. We are a lean, tightly-knit team looking for an independent, hands-on problem solver who can apply creative, non-traditional ideas to raw data in order to come up with high-impact solutions for the underserved population we target.

• Design models for risk scoring, fraud detection, marketing campaigns, etc.
• Create large-scale platform tools for portfolio monitoring & predictive analytics
• Develop the Credit Risk data infrastructure (from bottom layer ETL to the analytical middle layer) to help Risk Managers design underwriting strategies from data insights
• Collaborate with teams from Engineering, Capital Markets, Originations & Finance for implementation, auditing & monitoring of risk strategies

• A Masters Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Physics, etc.)
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in statistical machine learning (classification, regression, dimensionality reduction, feature selection, clustering, time-series analysis, etc.)
• Experience handling & working with large data sets
• Worked in at least one of the following: Java, C++, Python, etc.
• Proficient in SQL & databases and at least 1 statistical software package (SAS a plus)
• Strong analytical & quantitative skills
• Excellent oral & written communication skills
