Our products are designed to attractively merchandise products from the produce, deli, bakery, grocery, convenience store and food service industries.
Summary
Working under the supervision of Senior Product Managers and or Product Managers plan, organize and control assigned projects from conceptual stages through product life cycle to optimize profit and insure marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives are met.
Responsibilities
**Essential Function/Duties and Responsibilities** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions/duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, analysis of market research, and manufacturing coordination for assigned new and emerging products * Participates in technical product development, estimates of potential profits, and release to production. * Collects data related to product line performance, competitiveness, and trends in the marketplace and assists in the development of strategies based on research and analysis. * Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities. * Develops quotations on new items, as required. * Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, marketing, schedule, and sales information for product line. * Obtains, interprets and communicates customer feedback to product team. * Analyzes competitor profiles comparing competitor data and pricing to that of IPC. * Assists customers and field sales force in the capacity of an inside sales person and product specialist. * Provide training to Assistant Product Managers, customer service, sales, distributors, and brokers to ensure optimal product knowledge to effectively market against competition. * · Occasional travel required to support sales initiatives, new product research, store assessments, and technical support. * Maintains a database of new product development, which is networked to all appropriate departments to track the progress of new item projects. * Assist in organizing marketing campaigns, meetings, trade shows and other promotional events. * Prepare price quote letters, margin analysis reports, and projects as assigned for Senior Product Managers and or Product Managers.
Ideal Candidate
**1. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE** Bachelor’s degree B.A or B.S. in Marketing, or Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, from a four-year college, and at least 1-3 year’s experience as an Assistant Product Manager or similar, preferably in a manufacturing environment. A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Project, Excel, Access, and Word is required. This person needs to be good with numbers, have strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, and possess above average mechanical comprehension. Project Management and Market Research experience highly desirable. **2. LANGUAGE SKILLS** Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, general business periodicals, and financial reports. Able to write product information for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Compensation and Working Conditions
Annual Pay $48,000 - $60,000
Reports to Senior Product Manager
