Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY: * Works in a team environment to assist the development and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouse environment as well as various business specific data marts. * Provides analysis, design, development, and management of these data storages. * Performs data analytics with regard to client requests as well as finding opportunities to provide strategic and tactical insights to the organization businesses. REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Report to the Manager, Data Warehousing & Analytics from whom overall work direction is received. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assures the integrity of project data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis. * Collects and collates the appropriate data for usage in databases and conducting related research. * Discusses business intelligence needs or information with external clients and internal staff. * Responsible for data warehouse and analytics projects requirement, database design, construction, testing, administration, and maintenance. * Codes accurately the variables from original information or data and completing statistical analyses as required. * Analyzes data with standard statistical methods, interpreting the results, and providing written summary of data analyses. * Participates in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis. * Shares the knowledge of analysis techniques and data coding with other staff. * Performs necessary data extraction from internal and external data sources to build reports. * Manage multiple projects at once. * Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Ideal Candidate
Education: Requires a Bachelor of Science in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent occupational/professional qualification. Experience: * Requires 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining middle to large scale enterprise data warehouse. * Requires incumbent to be an expert user of MS Excel and Access (or similar) for statistical reporting. * Experience with data mining and business analytical in property & casualty or commercial insurance fields is preferred, not required. Knowledge / Skills: * Requires knowledge of ETL Data Skills (Extract Transform and Load) using MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to import and load data. * Requires database application development and reporting tools (e.g. MS Access, DB2, Business Objects, and Crystal Reports) knowledge. * Requires good analytical and logical approach to problem solving. * Requires the ability to interpret data/information and provide meaningful presentation of the information. * Requires knowledge of MS BI Stack with Power BI. * Requires good verbal, listening, and writing communication skills.
