Summary
Alpine is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Software Development Team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining database applications and troubleshooting related database code.
Responsibilities
* Maintains application performance and scalability; focus on performance tuning SQL queries, table design, indexing, query plan analysis and SQL refactoring * Supports application design by contributing expertise to applications, operations, and technical support teams * Supports database performance by monitoring database performance; evaluating and resolving processing and programming problems; designing database management tools * Assesses database performance by developing a protocol for measurement of results and identification of problem areas.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors or Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree * 8+ years of applicable experience. * Knowledge and/or experience in administering Microsoft SQL server databases (SQL Server 2008, 2012). * Experience in database development using LINQ to SQL and C#. * Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems * Proficient with SQL server profiler for monitoring/troubleshooting database activity and performance * Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools * Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics. * Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations * Extensive experience writing stored procedures and query tuning on high transaction systems. * Sound knowledge of RDBMS concepts, database architecture and SQL * Good communication and documentation skills with an innovative approach to work, constantly looking toward upgrading the system to more efficient and effective new technologies * Must become knowledgeable in Alpine Software product area(s), within 90 days of hire, and must be able to adapt that knowledge to any other product, as required.
