Summary
The Product Segment Manager will performs all marketing related functions necessary to improve the Food Machines Mixing Segment Platform P&L by management of, promotion of, and development of mixing products. Provides support to the brand marketing/sales development managers and field sales organization to maximize sales volume for the segment platform products. Develops tactical plans to meet the sales goals as established in the Operating Plan.
Responsibilities
The Product Segment Manager in conjunction with the Brand Marketing Managers will develop marketing plans for both new and existing products. Defines product training requirements and develops programs to insure product knowledge is resident throughout the field sales organization, and the dealer and consultant communities. * Marketing support for productdevelopment activities; interface with engineering. * Product launch projectmanagement to include sales/service training—plan dates, logistics, etc., website content/development, product designator and logo, product collateral andmanagement of launch budget. * Execution of pricing strategyincluding “margin management" for quotes/bids with Regional Sales Directors,manage product pricing, and involvement in annual PLS review, annual pricing,account negotiated pricing/discounting and coordinate/distribute pricinginformation. * Create/manage spec sheets, operatormanuals, catalog, special requests and aids (i.e.: videos, wall charts,competitive sell sheets, POP/merchandising aids, etc.) * Manage long-term product plansincluding step-up charts, waterfall charts, Product Requirement Documents(PRD). * Product training contentexpert. Develops content along with [business unit Sales Development Manager].Defines product training requirements and executes training as required. * Work with appropriate brandmarketing manager to ensure product development plan support brand strategies. * Manage multiple productplatforms/categories for Food Machines Mixing Segment Platform. * Manage product marketingbudget. * Identify and plan marketresearch strategies that are product focused (eg: trade focus). * Achieve sales revenue growthtargets * LRP contribution * Manage internal marketing groupactivities (new product request forms, routine reporting, promotional items). * Product liaison for Serviceorganizations * AutoQuotes/KCL Librarymanagement including management of product information and monitoring/reportingon competitive pricing activity through AutoQuotes review on a monthly basis. * New product communication tofield sales (e.g.: sales bulletins) * Cultivate trend analysis/identificationand competitive intelligence data. Track market share estimates of specifiedproduct and their competitors. * Coordination of marketing needswith ad agency.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor Degree (marketing,business or engineering preferred). * 10+ years industry experience. * Minimum 6 years marketing,engineering and/or sales experience. * Knowledge of marketing tactics * Understanding ofdistribution/selling process * Analytical skills * Planning and implementation * Solid presentation skills * Managing for results * Product knowledge * Customer focus * Excellent verbal, written andinterpersonal communication skills * Proficient in Microsoft Officeapplications * Office Environment with 25-50%travel **Preferred Qualifications** * Managed “Voice of the Customer"interviews, VOC’s * Understands Mechanical andElectrical diagrams * Experience with promotingthrough Social Media
