Ensure a safe and secure environment for co-workers and visitors that protects our assets and minimizes liabilities and losses to secure IKEA as the best home furnishings company in the local market
- Ensure IKEA’s access control policies regarding co-workers and visitors is adhered to
- Greet visitors
- Answer and maintain the facilities main switchboard
- Coordinate all internal communication (phones, PA System, two-way radios)
- Ensure compliance with IKEA Risk Management standards regarding emergency procedures
- Monitor alarm systems (burglar alarm, fire alarm, panic alarms, etc.) and dispatches Safety & Security and/or
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as needed
- Coordinate emergency response procedures including evacuations
- Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera equipment
- Maintain checklists, logs, and filing systems
- Process inbound/outbound mail
- Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as assigned
- Previous customer service oriented experience
- Computer aptitude – previous experience with Microsoft applications
- Knowledge and experience with security monitoring and/or alarm systems and equipment
- Previous phones experience preferred
- Strong desire to ensure a safe and secure environment for co-workers and visitors
- Good interpersonal, communications, administrative and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong telephone skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to deal with emergency situations
- Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work effectively during stressful situations
- Fluent in English (written and verbal skills)
- Ability to share your knowledge and learning and collaborate with others while acting as a cultural ambassador
- Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers
